Miles Morales Masterpost

There’s already a Spider-Man and he seems to- to love it. He loves jumping around and being hit in the face and lit on fire. I’m not that guy. Let him do that. I’m not that guy. 

In September 2011, following Peter Parker’s death in the Ultimates universe, Marvel decided that it was time for something new. Instead of bringing Peter back to life, they had someone else take up the mantle of Spider-Man: 13-year-old Miles Morales, a mixed-race kid from Brooklyn who’d had his own brush with a radioactive spider 11 months prior and who was inspired by Peter’s heroism to try and do some good with his new powers.
Although he shares the Spider-Man name, Miles’s struggles are his own - his mother worries about getting him into a good school so he has a shot at a future; his father, although very loving of Miles, has no love for mutants and people like them; and his uncle Aaron has just revealed himself to be the criminal Prowler. On top of all of this, Miles is still trying to find the courage to take on villains who have no problem killing children like him (and Peter), figuring out where he fits in with S.H.I.E.L.D and the rest of the Ultimates and working on geting a handle on the new powers he’s developing. Luckily, Miles has a lot of heart (and a great best friend who’s there to help every step of the way, Ganke) and he’s growing into his own hero slowly but surely. So far, Miles has appeared in:
Ultimate Comics Fallout #4 (this is actually set after the beggining of Miles’s own title but was his first actual appearance)
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man (his actual title):
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 |  8 | 9 | 10
And starting in June, a crossover title called “Spider-men” will bring Miles face to face with a grown up Peter Parker from the 616 universe. I’ll start adding those as the come out. And as always, if you enjoy these, please, please buy either the floppies or the trades when they come out! If there are any issues with these links, let me know and I’ll fix them.
